Glass-filled nylon 66 (PA66-GF30) has been the dominant under-hood plastic since the early 1990s. It replaced aluminum intake manifolds, cutting weight by 50% while adding integration benefits \u2014 vacuum ports, mounting brackets, and sensor bosses that were separate machined features in the aluminum design became single-shot molded features, eliminating assembly operations.<\/p>\n
