From Initial Review to Production Release

  1. Review the request. Identify missing drawing, application, material, quantity, tolerance, finish, inspection or delivery information.
  2. Compare suitable processes. Decide whether the part should be printed, machined, molded, or split into prototype and production stages.
  3. Record DFM questions. Mark features that affect tooling, machining access, wall thickness, draft, deformation, assembly or measurement.
  4. Confirm the quotation scope. State the material, process, tooling, sample stage, finish, inspection, documents, quantity, lead time, delivery terms and open assumptions.
  5. Approve the sample and revision. Production should refer to the approved drawing, material and acceptance criteria.

This sequence makes the decision points visible. It does not replace the technical and commercial conditions in the final quotation.

What the Quotation Should Make Clear

Exact grade where required, acceptable alternative where allowed, reinforcement, color and conditioning assumptions.

Manufacturing Scope

Prototype, CNC machining, mold, molded part, finish, assembly, packaging and delivery items that are included or excluded.

Approval and Inspection

Sample stage, drawing revision, critical dimensions, sampling method, appearance reference and required records.

Commercial Conditions

Quantity, tooling ownership or maintenance terms, lead time, delivery terms, payment terms and quotation validity.

Inspection Documents Must Be Requested by Name

If the order requires a material certificate, certificate of conformance, dimensional report, first-article format, control plan, traceability record or another customer document, list the exact document and standard revision in the RFQ. Availability, format, sampling and cost can then be confirmed before the order. The same document set does not automatically apply across different materials, processes or shipments.

Which inspection documents are included?

List the required document, sampling method, measurement points, standard, and revision in the RFQ. Document availability and inspection scope are confirmed in the quotation for the specific project; they should not be assumed from a general website statement.
